Young people listen to a story, summarize the main idea, and then act it out together. They identify the theme of community and describe the benefits of cooperation for the common good.

Learners reflect on the relationship between courage and fear, and identify the different character attributes that guide us when facing a challenge.

Learners reflect on their experience with performing an act of kindness from the previous lesson. They compare their experience to the message in a folktale, and write about the impact of a single small act of caring.
Unit: Character Education: Trustworthiness (Grade 8)
Learners compare two communities to which they belong using a Venn diagram and descriptive words related to trustworthiness.
Unit: What Respect Means to Me
Learners define respect first for themselves, then as a group, they discuss the meaning of respect in different situations.
