The learners investigate their perceptions about bullying and its relationship to respect. They brainstorm ways to promote respect of self and others as individuals and as a group.

This lesson guides youth to take take action with a group. They plan and carry out a tikkun olam project of their choosing to help the local community.

This lesson examines one way a lack of self-awareness can play a role in perpetuating racism and prejudice. Learners identify ways they can advocate for justice and kindness.

Learners will define the term tolerance and examine their reactions to given social situations that call for tolerance.

Children explore what it means to be responsible in school and in the community as a responsible citizen. They take action as responsible citizens to make the community healthier. 

Students will interview a representative from a local nonprofit organization and share the learned information with the class.

Participants gain exposure to how citizens organize in response to a need. They observe the benefits of group cooperation. They review data they have collected from surveys and work in collaborative groups to identify focus areas for the service-learning project.

We are commanded to “master the earth”. How one elects to do that, is a product of one’s understanding of the concept of mastery. This lesson enables learners to create a personally meaningful model and action plan of mastery/stewardship based upon their interpretation of traditional texts.

Writing letters to government officials is an effective way to take a stand on an issue. Young people use advocacy as a form of service. 

To learn how to conduct research and dedicate time to learning about nonprofit organizations, philanthropists, assessment of nonprofit effectiveness, social causes and issues, and related topics. Research time is scheduled periodically.
