Complement your lessons with videos about philanthropy.
Learning to Give's YouTube channel includes brief clips, such as first-grade children singing an original philanthropy rap, a street interview of people trying to define philanthropy, and a creative home movie about a child who decides to sell lemonade in order to buy a bicycle and ends up donating his money instead.
A longer feature "A Gift of All" is a beautiful 55-minute film by our partner SOUL of Philanthropy, which illlustrates through stories from a generation about how a community in West Michigan became known as one of the most philathropic regions in the nation. This video serves as s springboard for two teaching units about interviewing community philanthropists and creating videos or other communication tools to share: Lights, Camera, Take Action for high school and Our Unique Legacy of Giving for middle school.
Dive into our interview clips to hear teachers' stories about how they got hooked on giving from family and life experiences that transformed them.
