I love #GivingTuesday. This one day marks the second biggest day of financial giving of the year (after December 31). Only three years old, #GivingTuesday is a rapidly growing movement that mobilizes people all over the world to bring their focus to generosity and issues they care about. After a day of Thanksgiving and then two days of shopping, #GivingTuesday is a day when we come together to make a difference. In addition to financial giving, people give their time and talent and lend their voice to make a difference on December 1.
Learning to Give is bringing this global movement into the classroom by asking teachers to simply teach one lesson about giving on December 1. We know that young people learn to give through conversations about giving and by seeing role models of giving. Read Rachel Hutchisson's blog about Learning to Give's initiative: #Teach1 on #GivingTuesday. Young people are invited to join the movement and global conversation about giving. Let's celebrate #GivingTuesday by teaching about giving.
