How does an individual use personal interests and strengths to impact the common good? 

Unit Overview 

Students learn the meaning of philanthropy and community and ways to practice philanthropy in the school and neighborhood in which they live. They will learn about these concepts through music, movement, and creative dramatics experiences. The students create a product to give to an organization that works with children.

Service Experience 
The students will perform a variety of songs appropriate for children ages two to eight. The performance will be videotaped and donated to the local hospital Pediatric Unit for use with the children.

Stretching imagination and vocabulary, youth brainstorm words that demonstrate kindness and generosity. Being playful with their postures and shadows, youth work cooperatively with one or two others to act out their ideas and form alphabet letters.
