CHARITY CHECKS offer students a hands-on giving experience and the
opportunity to practice the act of philanthropy. Similar to gift
certificates, these checks can be used as a donation to any of the 850,000
nonprofits in the country recognized by the IRS as 501(c)(3)s. Students
research charities, discuss the organization mission with classmates and
families, choose the cause they care about, fill in their individual CHARITY
CHECKS and mail them. Companies or individuals can sponsor CHARITY CHECKS
for specific classes, or students can raise community funds for their chosen
charity. For school fundraising examples or to become a CHARITY CHECK
sponsor, email schools@charity-checks.org .
