Definitions
Directions: Use the following definitions when discussing common resources, commons, and stewardship.
common resources:
- Resources which are not owned, either privately or by the state, but are left open for free use by all comers.
- commons:
- This is the same as common resources.
- stewardship:
- A process whereby an organization seeks to be worthy of continued philanthropic support, including the acknowledgement of gifts, donor recognition, the honoring of donor intent, prudent investment of gifts, and the effective and efficient use of funds to further the mission of the organization.
- steward:
- A manager of another's financial affairs; a person responsible for maintaining household affairs - also known as stewardship.
