Two Forty-Minute Class Periods
The learner will:
- identify four elements of an effective pamphlet for a philanthropic organization.
- design a tri-fold pamphlet to advertise and/or promote their philanthropic organization.
Students will offer their brochures to the philanthropic organizations where they provided service.
Promotional pamphlets, drawing paper, colored pencils, markers, scissors, and construction paper.
Anticipatory Set:
Tell students to imagine that their profession is advertising or promotion. Ask them to identify what it would take for them to really "sit up and notice” a pamphlet. Let students describe what they would like to see.
In computer class, the students can learn how to use software to create a two-sided, tri-fold pamphlet including computer-generated graphics.
