Handout 2

Multi-Media Philanthropist Presentation Guide and Rubric

Assignment Guidelines:

  1. From the list given to you, choose a philanthropist from history whom you and one or two other classmates wish to study closely.

  2. Using a variety of sources, find as much information as possible about that philanthropist.

  3. Put together a 15-20 minute multi-media presentation that will teach the class, in an interesting way, about your philanthropist. Be sure to include where and when the person worked and lived, the problem that the philanthropist worked to solve, and the contributions that he or she made. Build class participation into the lesson in some way. Also, type a one-page information sheet to distribute to the class which highlights the major information about your philanthropist.

  4. Make your presentation to the class as a team.
