Why I Serve

Description

This module defines philanthropy and describes the research-based motivations for giving and serving. Participants are prompted to explore how and why to motivate themselves and others to serve. Each participant is guided to write a “Why I Serve” statement.

Learning Objectives

The learner will:

  1. Define philanthropy as giving time, talent, or treasure or taking action for the common good.
  2. Identify the seven motivations for giving and serving.
  3. Explore personal motivations, values, talents, and giving passions.
  4. Write a personal “Why I Serve” statement.

CEU Credit

Upon successful completion of each module, the learner may request a certificate suitable for a professional development portfolio or as proof of educational clock hours that can be used towards continuing education credit in most states.
