This module explores emerging research on the biology of philanthropic behavior, the development of altruism as children grow, the religious motivations for philanthropy, and adult motivations for giving and serving. The module focuses on the internal and personal reasons that people are philanthropic. Start the module now.

Philanthropy education is not a foreign behavior, it is a fundamental human behavior that helps us form and support communities.

Duration: 30-45 minutes

Learning Objectives:

The learner will:

  1. the learner will describe the emerging physical evidence for human altruistic behavior
  2. the learner will describe developmentally age appropriate altruistic behavior
  3. the learner will compare and contrast the philanthropic underpinnings of the worlds’ major religions
  4. the learner will investigate and describe adult motivations for giving and serving

CEU Credit: Upon successful completion of each module, the learner may request a certificate, which is suitable for a professional development portfolio or as proof of educational clock hours that can be used toward continuing education credit in most states.
