New Curricular Resources Tied to Michigan Standards
Teacher Guides which link the IMAX movie experience with Michigan Framework Standards and Benchmarks and the importance of voluntary action for the common good are available on both the IMAX and Learning to Give Web sites.
Use the Teacher Guides to introduce the movie to your class prior to the IMAX experience, and then integrate the movie themes and content into your classroom studies after your students' IMAX visit. Depending on your city and location, IMAX movie theaters independently rotate their big screen movie schedules. Search to find which IMAX movies are showing in your specific area at www.bigmoviezone.com/main.html or specifically in the Grand Rapids and Lansing, MI areas at www.celebrationimax.com or in Indianapolis, IN at www.imax.com/indy/nowplaying/index.htm.
These exciting and helpful new curricular resources for teachers are the result of a collaborative and innovative partnership between the Learning to Give project of the Council of Michigan Foundations, Learning to Give - Michigan , a service of Grand Valley State University’s College of Education and IMAX Celebration Cinema.
